The JHS Colour Box V2 preamp pedal is a powerful tool designed to bring the classic sounds of 'direct-in' electric guitar recordings to your pedalboard. Inspired by legendary recordings from bands like The Beatles and Steely Dan, the Colour Box V2 acts as a complete studio-grade preamp, EQ and distortion generator, giving players access to a wide range of tones. With the addition of a Hi/Lo switch for clean headroom, expanded EQ controls and the ability to pass 48V phantom power, this pedal goes beyond guitars, working with microphones, bass, synths and more. Its versatility and pristine tone have made it a favorite of artists and engineers alike, featured on recordings by U2, Wilco, The National and more.
Complete Control With Hi/Lo Gain and Output Transformer
At the heart of the Colour Box V2 is its gain section, which allows you to shape your tone with incredible precision. The Master, Pre-Vol and Step controls work together to offer everything from clean preamp tones to overdriven distortion. The Hi/Lo switch gives you control over headroom, with Lo mode offering ultraclean sounds, while Hi mode provides more saturation and grit. An added output transformer and ?20dB pad (for XLR inputs) ensure that the pedal handles anything from high-output microphones to direct instrument inputs with ease.
Studio-Grade EQ With Precision Shift Controls
The Colour Box V2's EQ section offers three-band tone shaping with Treble, Middle and Bass controls. The three new Shift knobs allow for precision control of the frequency ranges affected by each band.
