The Epiphone 1959 ES-355 lets you experience the iconic tone and feel of a vintage semi-hollowbody electric guitar. Designed in partnership with Gibson Custom, Epiphone has recreated every detail of the legendary 1959 ES-355?from its dimensions to its contours to its precise inlays and sonic experience. The ES-355 features a 5-ply layered maple body with a solid maple center block for rich sustain and feedback resistance. Its mahogany neck has a comfortable '50s profile and 22 medium-jumbo frets on an ebony fingerboard adorned with custom block inlays.
Semi-Hollow Construction With Sustain
The 1959 ES-355's 5-ply maple and poplar body, with a solid maple center block, gives you resonance and feedback resistance so you can push your amp without unwanted squeal. Its one-piece mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard feel smooth and fast under your fingers, while medium-jumbo frets make bending strings a breeze. The tone is balanced, with articulate highs, tight lows and bloom in the midrange that compresses pleasingly when overdriven.
Versatile, Vintage-Voiced Tone
The ES-355 is powered by a pair of Custombucker humbucking pickups that provide the warm, balanced tone for which 1950s Gibsons are famous. With individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, you can blend the pickups for a range of vintage tones from bright and jangly to thick and creamy. The semi-hollow maple body gives you resonant acoustic-like depth with solid sustain and feedback resistance. Whether you want to play jazz, blues, rock or anything in between, the ES-355 has a stunning vintage tone for you.
